erton, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, and entitled as fully set forth i
the body of this ordinance, by adding a paragraph, to be known as Paragraph 21,
defining the term "Private Dwelling", approving interpretations of the building
inspector heretofore made in interpreting the term "Private l~velling", and decla
ing an emergency.
THE CITY OF BR~ERTON DOES ORDAINS:
Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1499 of the City of Bremerton,
commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, and entitled as follows: "An ordinance
to regulate and restrict the location and use of buildings and the use of land
within the City of Bremerton; to limit the height of buildings; to prescribe
building lines and the size of yards and other open spaces and for these purpose
to divide the city into districts." be and the said Section ~ is hereby amended
by adding following paragraph EO at the end of said section, the following para-
graph to be known as paragraph El.
"El. Private Dwelling:
A building arranged or designed to be occupied by not more than two
families and including two family dwellings commonly known as
"duplex' buildings."
Section E. All interpretations of the Zoning Ordinance, No. 1499, previousl
made by the building inspector of the city of Bremerton, which comply with the
definition of "Private Dwelling" contained in the next preceding paragraph of th~
ordinance, are hereby ratified, confirmed and approved.
Section, 3. That an emergency exists affecting the public peace, health and
safety, in that additional housing is urgently and immediately needed in the Citl
of Bremerton for the furtherance of the war effort, and plans now under way for
the building of housing units in the City of Bremerton will be or are apt to be
discontinued unless this ordinance is immediately placed into effect.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be come effective immediately following
passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by
the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
