HomeMy WebLinkAbout1363 ORDINANCE NO. 1363 AN ORDINANCE establishing and fixing the boundaries of voting precincts in the City of Bremerton, and designating the number of each of said precincts, and repealing Ordinances No. 1001 and No. 1193, and all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict therewith. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BREN~RTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLO?~S: Section 1. That from and after the effective date of this ordinance, there shall be twenty-eight (28) voting precincts in the City of Bremerton, which said precincts shall be known and shall have boundaries as set forth in Section 2 of this ordinance. Section 2. That the numbers by which each of the said precincts shall be designated, together with the boundaries of each of said precincts, shall be as follows: Precinct No. 1. Beginning at the intersection of the East line of the Puget Sound Navy Yard with the Meander line of Sinclair Inlet, in Sec. 24-24-1E, thence following said Meander line North- easterly to its intersection with Fourth Street extended, thence Westerly on Fourth Street extended to Washington Avenue, thence Southerly on Washington Avenue to Burwell Street, thence Westerly on Burwell Street to the North East corner of Puget Sound Navy Yard, thence following East boundary of Puget Sound Navy Yard Southerly and Easterly to point of beginning. Precinct No. 2. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street extended and the Meander line of Sinclair Inlet, thence West on Sixth Street to Pacific Avenue, thence South on Pacific Avenue to Burwell Street, thence Easterly on Burwell Street to Washington Avenue, thence Northerly on Washington Avenue, ~o Fourth Street, thence Easterly on Fourth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 3. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street extended and the Meander line of Sinclair Inlet, thence West on Sixth Street, to Highland Avenue, thence North and Northwesterly along Highland Avenue to its intersection with the Meander lihe of Port Washington Narrows, thence Northeasterly and Southerly along the Neander line of Port Washington Narrows and Sinclair Inlet to Point of beginning. Precinct No. 4. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Pacific Avenue, thence North on Pacific Avenue to Meander line of Port ~ashington Narrows, thence Northeasterly along Meander line of port Washington Narrows to Highland Avenue; thence Southeasterly and South on Highland Avenue, to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street, to point of beginning. Precinct No. 5. Beginning at the intersection of Burwell Street and Pacific Avenue; thence North on Pacific Avenue, to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street to Warren Avenue, thence South on Warren'! Avenue to Burwell Street, thence East on Burwell Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 6. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Pacific Avenue, thence North on Pacific Avenue to Eighth Street, thence West on Eighth Street to McKenzle Avenue, thence North on McKenzie Avenue to Eighth Street, thence West on Eighth Street to Park Avenue, thence North on Park Avenue to Eighth Street, thence West on Eighth Street to Warren Avenue, thence South on Warren Avenue to intersection with Sixth Street, thence East on Sixth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 7. Beginning at the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Eighth Street, thence North on Pacific Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West on Eleventh Street to Warren Avenue, thence South on Warren Avenue to Eighth Street, thence Easterly and Southerly along Eighth Street, across and along Park and McKenzie Avenues, to point of beginning. Beginning at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Eleventh Street, thence North on Elizabeth Avenue to its intersection with the Meander line of Port Washington Narrows, thence Southeasterly, Southerly and Easterly along the Meander line of Port Washington Narrows to Pacific Avenue, thence South on Pacific Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West along Eleventh Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 9. Beginning at the intersection of Burwell Street and Warren Avenue, thence North on Warren Avenue to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street to Chester Avenue, thence South on Chester to Puget Sound Navy Yard, thence East and North along boundary of Puget Sound Navy Yard to point of beginning. Precinct No. 10. Beginning at intersection of Warren Avenue and Sixth Street, thence North along Warren Avenue to Eleventh Street; thence East to Elizabeth Avenue, thence North on Elizabeth Avenue to Thirteenth Street, thence West on Thirteenth Street to Chester Avenue, thence South on Chester Avenue to Sixth Street, thence East to point of beginning. Precinct No. ll. Beginning at the intersection of Ohio Avenue and Thirteenth Street, thence North on Ohio Avenue to Meander line of Port Washington Narrows, thence Easterly along the Meander line of Port Washihgton Narrows to Elizabeth Avenue, thence South on Elizabeth Avenue to Thirteenth Street, thence West on Thirteenth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 12. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Chester Avenue, thence West on Sixth Street to Veneta Avenue, thence South on Veneta Avenue to Fourth Street, thence West on Fourth Street to Anoka Avenue, thence South on Anoka Avenue, to Puget Sound Navy Yard, thence East along Puget Sound Navy Yard boundary to Chester Avenue, thence North on Chester Avenue to beginning. Precinct No. 13. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and High Avenue, thence North on High Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence East on Eleventh Street to Chester Avenue, thence South on Chester to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 14. Beginning at the intersection of Eleventh Street and High Avenue, thence North on HiSh Avenue to the Meander line of Port Washington Narrows, thence Easterly along the ~eander line of Port Washington Narrows to Ohio Avenue, thence South on Ohio to Thirteenth Street, thence East on Thirteenth Street, to Chester Avenue, thence South on Chester Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West on Eleventh Street to beginning. Precinct No. 15. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Hewitt Avenue, thence East on Sixth Street to Veneta Avenue, thence South on Veneta Avenue to Fourth Street, thence West on Fourth Street to Anoka Avenue, thence South on Anoka Avenue to Navy Yard Fence, thence West along said Fence to High Avenue, thence North on High Avenue to Fourth Street, thence West on Fourth Street to Hewitt Avenue, thence North on Hewitt to the point of beginning. Precinct No. 16. Beginning at intersection of Naval Avenue and Sixth Street, thence East on Sixth Street to Hewitt Avenue, thence South on Hewitt Avenue to Fourth Street, thence East on Fourth Street to High Avenue, thence South on High Avenue to Navy Yard Fence, thence West along Navy Yard Fence to Naval Avenue, thence North on Naval Avenue to Point of ~eginning. Precinct No. 17. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Naval Avenue, thence North on Naval Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence East on Eleventh Street to High Avenue, thence South on High Avenue to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street to point o2 beginning. Beginning at the intersection of Naval Avenue and Eleventh Street, thence North on Naval to Neander line of Port Washington Narrows, thence Easterly along Meander line of Port Washington Narrows to High Avenue, thence South on High Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West on Eleventh Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 19. Beginning at the intersection of Montgomery Avenue and Sixth Street, thence East on Sixth Street to Naval Avenue, thence South on Naval Avenue to First Street, thence West on First Street to ~ontgomery Avenue, thence North on Montgomery Avenue to point of beginning. Precinct No. 20. Beginning at the intersection of State Highway No. 21 with Sixth Street, thence Northwesterly along State Highway No. 21 to Ninth Street, thence East on Ninth Street to Callow Avenue, thence North on Callow Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence East on Eleventh Street to Naval Avenue, thence South on Naval Avenue to Sixth Street, thence West on Sixth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 21. Beginning at the intersection of Eleventh Street and Callow Avenue, thence North on Callow Avenue to Fifteenth Street, thence East on Fifteenth Street to Naval Avenue, thence South on Naval Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West on Eleventh Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 22. Beginning at the intersection of Cambrian Avenue and Rodgers street, thence East to Puget Sound Navy Yard, thence South along Puget Sound Navy Yard to Leander line of Sinclair Inlet, thence following Meander to its intersection with City Limits, thence Northwesterly along City Limits to Lafayette Avenue, thence North on Lafayette Avenue to Preble Street, thence East on Preble Street to Cambrian Avenue, thence North on Cambrian Avenue to point of beginning. Precinct No. 23. Beginning at the intersection of Cambrian Avenue and Rodgers Street, thence West on Rodgers Street to Summit Avenue, thence continuing West and South along City Limits to Preble Street, thence East on Preble Street to McCollum Avenue, thence South and Southeast on ~cCollum ~venue to Lafayette Avenue, thence Northeast and North on Lafayette Avenue to Preble Street, thence East on Preble Street to Cambrian Avenue, thence North on Cambrian Avenue to point of beginning. Precinct No. 24. That portion of the city of Bremerton bounded on the North by First Street, en the South by Rodgers St'feet, on the East by the Puget Sound Navy Yard, and on the West by the City Limits~ Precinct No. 25. Beginning at the intersection of Sixth Street and Montgomery Avenue, thence South on Montgomery to First Street, thence West on First Street to Lafayette Avenue, thence North on Lafayette Avenue to Ninth Street, thence East on Ninth Street to State Highway No. 21, thence Southeasterly on said State Highway to Sixth Street, thence East on Sixth Street to point of beginning. Precinct No. 26. Ail that portion of the City of Bremerton lying West of Lafayette Avenue and North of First Street. Precinct No. 27. Beginning at the intersection of East Sixteenth Street with the Meander line of Port Washington Narrows, thence East along said East Sixteenth Street to Nipsic Avenue, thence South on Nipsix Avenue to Eleventh Street, thence West on Eleventh Street to Ironsides Avenue, thence South on Ironsides Avenue to Meander line, thence Northwesterly along Meander line of Port Washington Narrows to point of beginning. Ordinance No. 1363 (cont) Precinct No. 28. Beginning at the intersection of Ironsides Avenue with the ~eander line of Port Orchard Bay, thence following said Ironsides Avenue North to Eleventh Street, thence East on Eleventh Street to Nipsic Avenue, thence North on Nipsic Avenue to the City Limits, thence East, North and East along City Limits to intersection with the Meander line of Port Orchard Bay, thence following the Meander line of Port Orchard Bay Southwesterly to point of beginning. Section 3. Ordinance No. 1001, Ordinance No. 1193, and all other ordinance or parts of ordinances of the City of Bremerton, in conflict herewith, are hereb repealed. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days from and after passage and publication.
