AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement
District No. 203, created and established by Ordinance No. 1292, providing for the
improvement of Thirteenth Street from High Avenue to Broadway· Avenue, Sidney Ave-
nue from a point 120 feet North of Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, Stuart
Avenue from Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, 0bio Avenue from a point 120
feet North of Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, Lincoln Avenue from.a point
120 feet North of Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, as in said ordinance
provided; providing for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof'
against the parcels and lots of land between the termini and within the boundar~es
of the said improvement district; providing for the collection thereof; creating
and establishing a special fund therefor, and fixing the date for the issuance of
bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT O~DAINED BY TKE CITY CO~ISSION OF TikE CITY OF BRE~RTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 203,
providing ~or the improvement of Thirteenth Street from High Avenue to Broadway
AVenue, Sidney Avenue from a point 120 feet North of Eleventh Street to Thirteenth
Street, Stuart Avenue from Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, Ohio Avenue from
s point l~0 feet North of Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, Lincoln Avenue
from a point 120 feet North 8f Eleventh Street to Thirteenth Street, by the
construction of a system of storm and sanitary sewers, drains and appurtenances
for the disposal of storm and sanitary wastes, together with the doing of any and
all other work in connection therewith as may be necessary to make such improve-
ment a complete job, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file
in the office of the City Clerk, and as provt.ded by and described in Ordinance
No. 1292, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in
said assessment r011, is specially benefited by said improvement, .and that there
be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof
and other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll,
including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts .
in said roll set against each parcel and lot of land or part thereof,.and other
property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or
proximate to said street, and such amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to
be a first lien against each parcel or lot Of land or part thereof, against which
the same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. 203." Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from One to
, both inclusive, or so many as may be neceesary to ~provide for'the uncol-
lected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district on the
date hereina~ter fixed, the same to be in denominations of Two Hundred Dollars
each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional part of Two Hundred
Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said
"Local Improvement Fund, District Mo. 203."
Section 4. That the 20th day of November, 1940, be and the same is hereby
fixed ~or the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
!·~i~ Section 5. This ordinanc~ shall be in full force and effect Thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the CitY Commission, signed by the Mayor and aStested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 25th day of Sept·ember, 1940.
