AN ORDINANCE amending Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1321 by providing for
the granting by the .City Commission of the right and privilege of taking on
or discharging passengers by auto stages at not more than four points or
places, other than the depot or terminal points, in the City of Bremerton,
where it is necessary to use the streets or sidewalks, and declaring an
emergency to exist.
THE CITY C0~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BR~dERTON DOES ORDAIN AS .~0LL0?~S:
Section 1. That Section 7 of Ordinance No. 1321 be and the same is here-
by amended to read as follows;
Section ?. Upon application by any owner in writing to the City
Commission, for the privilege and authority of taking on and dis-
charging passengers from auto stages while enroute throu.~h the
City of Bremerton, or to or from its depot or terminal point, at
a designated point or points other than at said depot or terminal
point, the City Co~nuission may by motion or resolution duly passed
by a majority of said Commission, and after receiving the recof~a-
~ndatlon~ of the Chief of t~olice of the City of Bremerton, allow
such owner to pick up and discharge passengers at sdch point or
points, providing, however, that no owner shall be granted the
right to take on and discharge passengers within the city limits
of the City of Br~merton at more than four points or places where
such taking on or disdharging will necessitate the use of the city
streets or sidewalks; and no owner shall be granted the right to
take on or discharge passengers within the city limits of the City
of Bremerton at any point other than at its depot or terminal
point during the time o~ peak traffic, between ~:30 a.m. and 8:00
a.m., and between 4:45 p.m. and 5:10 p.m., on Mondays, Tuesdays,
W~dnesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of each week.
Section 2. An emergency exists and this ordinance is necessary for
traffic control and for preservation of the public health and safety in the
City of Bremerton, and this ordinance shall take effect in~nediately upon its
passage and publication.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, sig~ed by the
Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
this 22nd day of May, 1940.
