A3~ ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local
Improvement District No. 199, created and established by Ordinance No.
1283, providing for the improvement of Fifteenth Street from High Avenue
to Naval ~venue, as in said ordinance provided; providing for the levying
and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and
lots of land between the termini and within the boundaries of the said imp-
rovement district; providing for the collection thereof; creating and
establishing a special fund therefor, and fixing the date for the issuance
of bonds in payment thereo2.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~[IS$ION OF THE CITY OF BR~,[ERTON AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District
No. 199, providing for the improvement of Fifteenth Street from High Avenue
to Naval Avenue, by clearing, grubbing, grading, construction of sidewalks,
providing for drainage, installation of fire hydrants, and all other work
necessary to make a complete job, all in accordance with the plans and
specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as provided by
and described in Ordinance No. 1283A, be and the same is hereby a!~proved
and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown
in said assessment roll, is specially benefitted by said improvement, and
that there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land
and part thereof and other property contained in said improvement district
as shown in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of
Bremerton, the respective amounts in said roll set against each parcel and
lot of land or part thereof, and other property between the termini of said
improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said street, and such
amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to be a first lien against each
parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the same is assessed in
said roll. '~
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
crected and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Imp-
rovement Fund, District No. 199." Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers
from One to , both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide
for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said
district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of
One Hundred ($100.O0) Dollars each, except the first, ~hich shall be for such
fractional part of One !Iundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on
said date, payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, ~istrict No. 199."
Section 4. That the 15th day of June, 1940, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on
account of said improvement.
Section ~. This ordinance shall be i'n full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and~pub~ication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Co~aission, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 20th day of April, 1940.
