AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local
Improvement District No. 194, created and established by Ordinance No. 1253
providing for the improvement of ~larguerite Avenue from a point 300 feet
North of the North margin of Eleventh Street to a point 302 feet North of
Thirteenth Street; and Thirteenth Street from a point 234.47 feet West of
the West margin of Marguerite Avenue to High Avenue, as in said ordinance
provided; providing for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses
thereof against the parcels and lots of land between the termini and within
the boundaries of the said improvement district; providing for the collection
thereof; creating and establishing a special fund therefor, and fixing the
date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No.
194, providing for the improvement of Marguerite Avenue from a point 300 feet
North of the North margin of Eleventh Street to a point 302 feet North of
Thirteenth Street; and Thirteenth Street from a point 234.47 feet West of
the West margin of ~arguerite Avenue to High Avenue, by clearing, grubbing,
grading, graveling, the construction of concrete sidewalks with curbs and
gutters providing for the draining thereof, together with any and all other
work necessary to make a complete Job, all in accordance with the plans and
specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, and a_s provided by
and described in Ordinance No. 1253 A, be and the same is hereby approved
and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown
in said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvement, and that
there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part
thereof and otherproperty contained in said improvement district as shown in
said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the
respective amounts in said roll set against each parcel and lot of land or
part thereof, and other property between the termini of said improvement
abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said street, and such amounts, so
assessed, are hereby declared to be a first lien against each parcel or lot of
land' or part thereof, against which the same is assessed in said ~oll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known, and called "Local Improve-
ment Fund, District No. 194." Bonds shall be issUed in serial numbers from
One to both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for
the uncollected portioh of said special assessment due or owing in said
district on the date hereinafter fixe~, the same to be in denominations of Two
Hundred Dollars each, except the first, which shall, be for such fractional
part of Two Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date,
payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 194."
Section 4. That the 15th day of March, 1940, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on
account of said improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Commission, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 20th day of January, 1940.
