HomeMy WebLinkAbout1436 ~RDINANCE N0. 1438 AN ORDINANCE setting up a Sewer Construction Fund, directing the transfer of $2500.00 into said Fund, reciting the reasons for the estab- lishing of said Fund and declaring an emergency. THE CITY C0[/g~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLL©WS: Section 1. That there is hereby set up and established a special fund, to be known as "Sewer Construction Fund~, Project No. 45-172, and all expenditures which shall be made in connection with that certain Project known and described as Federal Works Agency, Docket Wash. 45-172, shall be made from said Fund. Section 2. That for the purpose of defraying engineering expenses incurred in connection with the said project, the proper city officers are hereby directed to ~ransfer the stm~ of $2500.00 from the amount budgeted to the City Engineer for engineering purposes during the year 1941, to the said Fund. Section 3. The said Fund shall be set up by the proper city officers in a banking institution in the City of Bremerton, which is ~ member of the Federal Reserve system and which shall be ~ualified under the laws of the State of Washington as a depositary for city funds, and the City Treasurer is hereby directed to notify the Regional Director of the Federal Works Agency, Defense Public Works Division, as to the name of the said bank and the setting up of the said fund. Section 4. [~dditional monies may be transferred into said Fund from time to time by resolution or motion du~y passed by a majority of the City Co~mmission, and the said fund is set up for the purpose of expediting accounting .procedure and for the purpose of qualifying for the Federal Grant of !$58,500.00 aid in financing the construction of sewer facilities as Defense Public Works, described in the OfFer of the United States Government, under Docket Wash. 45-172, which was accepted by resolution of the City Commission on December 19, 1941. Section 5. 'An emergency exists affecting the public peace, health and safety of the City of Brem. erton, and this ordinance shall take effect immediately following passage and publication. PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 24th day of December, 1941.
