HomeMy WebLinkAbout1401 ORDINANCE NO. 1401 AN ORDINANCE extending the City limits of the City of Bremerton, and declaring such extension to be for municipal purposes. THE CITY C0~ISSION OF THE CITY OF BRE~RTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the property hereinafter described is uninhabited and has been acouired by School District No. 100-C, for school purposes and that the said school district has reouested and petitioned the City Commission of the City of Bremerton to extend the City Limits to include the said r~al property and annex the said real property to the City of Bremerton. Section 2. The annexation of the said real property is hereby declared to be for various municipal purposes, including the furnishing of police and fire protection; that a serious shortage in school buildings and facilities exists in the City of Bremerton on account of the great influx of persons engaged primarily in national defense activities in the Puget Sound ~avy Yard with their families; thst the annexation of the property hereinafter described is necessary in order to cooperate with the Federal government, the State of Washington and the said school district in order that fire and police protection and other municipal services may be rende?ed in connection with the said real property and the scho~.l buildings or buildings which will be constructed thereon. section 3. The City limits of the City of Bremerton are hereby extended to include the hereinafter described resl property, which is hereby annexed to the oity of Bremerton: West helf of the Southwes.~/ouarter of the Southwest ouarter of the Southwes~/cuarter of Section 15, township 24 North, !:~-~n~e i E.W.M., Kitsap County, State of Washington. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and after its passage and publication, as provided by law.
