AN ORDINANCE changing the map of the City of Bremerton, Washington.
THE CITY C0~g{ISSION OF THE CITY OF BR~ERTON DOES ORDAIN AS
Section 1. That the United States Housing Authority has undertaken a natinnal
defense housing project in the vicinity of Manette, in Bremerton, ~ashington, in
order that dwellings may be available for persons engaged in national defense
activities at the Puget Sound Navy Yard.
Section g. That the Poget Sound Navy Yard is the main industry of the City of
Bremerton, and making available housing to the workers in said NaVY Yard, in this
period of national defense emergency and acute housing shortage, is a municipal
purpose.
Section 3. That said housing project is to be located on the-site hereinafter
described because of the necessity for accessibility of said project to the said
Puget Bound Navy Yard, which si~e adjoins but is outside of the city limits of the
City of Bremerton.
Section ~. That the Housing Cooperation Law of the State of Washington
~uthorizes the City of Bremerton to change its map to include the said site within
the city limits, and it is necessary and advisable on account of the national
defense emergency and for the proper and adecuate housing of persons engaged in
national defense activities ~hat the smid site be included within the City of
Bremerton.
Section ~. That the map of the City of Bremerton be, and the same is hereby,
changed to include the following described real property in Kitsap County, Washing-
ton:
Beginning ~t the ouarter corner on the South
line of Section Twelve, Township ~$ North,
Range i East, W.E.; thence North
East along the centerline of Section Twelve

Navy Yard Addition to Bremerton; thence South

Boulevard 1969.91 Feet to the North margin of
State Secondary Highway No. El-B; thence South
&6~l'~0'' East along the North margin of the
State Highway 908.87 feet to the South line of
Section Twelve; thence South 87°~g'~8'' East
80~.~8 feet to the point of beginning."
Section 8. An emergency exists and this Ordinance is necessary for the
immediate preservation of public peace, health and safety in the City of Bremerton
and for the purposes of national defense, and the same shall take effect immediately
after its passa~'e and publication.
PASSED and approved unanimously by the City Commission of the City of
Bremerton and attested by the City Clerk in authentication thereof this 4th day of
June, 1941.
