AN ORDINANCE declaring public emergencies to exist in the City of
Bremerton which could not reasonably have been foreseen at the time of making
the budget for the year 1940, which require the expenditure of moneys from the
Current Expense Fund, the Library Fund, the Cemetery Fund, and the Park Fund,
.estimating the respective amounts to meet such emergencies, and providing for
the appropriation of funds therefor.
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Bremerton finds that an
emergency exists in the City of Bremerton and that the expenditures herein-
after listed are necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and
safe6y and .on account of the great influx of population in the City of
Bremerton due to the national defense emergency and that the said expenditures
could not reasonably have been foreseen and were not foreseen at the time of
making the budget of the City of Bremerton for the year 1940.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Bremerton hereby declares
that said emergencies exist and require the expenditure of approximately
$6,588.79 from the Current Expense Fund; $46.70 from the Library Fund; $579.38
from the Cemetery Fund and $309.69 from the Park Fund, which expenditures are
segre6ated as follows:

Section 3. That the sum of $6588.79 for Current Expense; $46.70 for
Library Fund; Cemetery Fund for $579.38 and Park Fund $309.69, be and the said
sums are hereby appropriated, and the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to draw emergency warrants upon the respective funds herein
enumerated to pay said emergency expenses prior to January 20, 1941, the date
for closing payment of City accounts for 1940.
READ and approved on first reading at a regular meeting of the City
~ommission on the llth day of January, 1941, and ordered filed for a period of
one week to be considered by the City Commission on second and final reading on
the 18th day of January, 1941, at 10 o'clock A.M.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at the regular meeting of the City Commission of the
City of Bremerton, by unanimous vote, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 18th day of January, 1941.
