AN ORDINANCE amending Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1345 of the City of Brem-
erton relating to meat inspection and entitled as fully hereinafter set forth.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Section 4 of Ordinance No. 1345 entitled: "An Ordinance
for the protection of public health in the city of Bremerton; regulating the
business of slaughtering livestock, and the preparation, sale and handling of
meat and meat products Intended. for human consumption; providing for the inspec-
tion of same, and providing a penalty for the violation thereof,"
be and the said Section 4 is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 4. The City Commission of the City of Bremerton
shall appoint a CityTneat inspector, who shall have or
shall establish an office in the City of Bremerton without
expense or cost to the City of Bremerton for such office
or the maintenance thereof, whose duty it shall be to make
post mortem examinations of calves, lambs, sheep and swine,
after payment of the fee for such inspection established in
this ordinance, when such calves, lambs, sheep or swine are
the property of and are presented to him for inspection
by farmers aa defined herein; and providing further, 'that
all carcasses of calves and lambs, presented to the city meat
inspector for inspection, shall have the liver held in place
in the carcass by natural body attachments, and the carcasses
of all swine shall have the heart and lungs held in place by
natural body attacl~ments. The said inspector shall refuse to
inspect any carcasses which are the property of, or are
presented by, persons other than farmers as defined herein.
APPROVED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, on first reading,
this 23rd day of Oecember, 1942.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, on final reading,
