AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency to exist on account of the necessity of
publishing the proposed City Charter of the City of Bremerton in thirty consecu-
tive issues of two daily newspapers in the City of Bremerton as required by state
law; and appropriating funds to meet such emergency. ,
THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF ~REMERTON 0RDAI~S AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That a pub.!ic emergency exists in the City of Bremerton due to
the fact that the proposed ~ity Charter which has since been approved by the voters
of the City of Bremerton, was published in thirty (30) consecutive issues of two
daily newspapers in the City of Bremerton as required by state law, and. that no
appropriation has been made in the 1942 budget for the payment of the expense o£
such publication, for the reason that such emergency and the necessity of publish-
ing such proposed charter could not have been foreseen at the time of making the
budget for the yesr 1942.
Section 2. That the sum of Twenty-One Hundred ($2100.00) Dollars, will. be
required to meet such emergency, and the City Clerk of the City of Bremerton is
authorized and directed to issue emer.~ency warrants not to exceed said sum, in
payment for the cost of such publications pursuant to claims to be filed w~ th and.
approved by the City Commission of the City of B'remerton.
Section 3. An emergency exists which affects the public peace, health and
safety of the City of Bremerton, and this ordinance shall take effect irm~ediatly
following passag8 and publication.
APPROVED unanimously by the City Commission on first reading this 19th day
of October, 194~o.
PASSED unanimously on final reading, signed by the ~ayor, and attested by
the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, 'this 28th day of October, 1942.
