HomeMy WebLinkAbout1493 ORDINANCE NO. 1493 AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 222, created and establishe(t by Ordinance No. 1451, providing for the improvement of NINTH STREET from Rainier Avenue to Olympic Avenue; TENTH STREV:T from Rainier Avenue to Olympic Avenue, and OLYMPIC AVENUE from a point midway be- tween Eighth Street and Ninth Street to Eleventh Street, on West side only, as in said ordinance provided; providing for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and lots of land between the termini and with- in the boundaries of the said improvement district; providing for the collection thereof; creating snd establishing a special fund therefor, and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof. THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CItY OF BREMERTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Imorovement District No. 222, providing for the improvement of NINTH STREET from Rainier Avenue to Olympic Avenue; Tenth Street from Rainier ~venue to Olympic Avenue and Olympic Aven~.~e from a point midway between Eighth Street an~ Ninth Street to Eleventh Street, on West side only, by clearing, grubbing, grading, graveling and oiling, and the con- struction of concrete curbs and concrete sidewalks where necessary, together with the doing of any and all other work necessary to make a complete Job, all in accord- ance with the plans mud specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1451, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed. Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in said assessment roll, is specially benefited by said improvement, and~hst there'is and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot o£ land and part thereof and other property contaC, ned in said improvement district as shown in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amo~mts in said roll set against each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, and other property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said street, and such amounts, so assessed, are hereby declared to be a first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the same is assessed in said roll. Section 3. That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 222." Bonds shall be issued in serial numbers from One to both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district on the date here- inafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of one hundred ($100.00) Dollars each, except the first, which shall be for such fractional mart of One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement Funds, District No. 222." Section 4. Phat the 18th day of November 1942, be and the same is hereby fixed for the date of,issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account of said improvement. Section 5. 'I1als ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty (30) days from and ~fter its passage and publication, as provided by law. PASSED by the Gity Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this t9th day of September, 1942.
