AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance No. 1489 entitled: "An Ordinance amending
section 2 of Ordinance No. 1481 of the City of Bremerton, entitled: 'An Ordinance
for licensing and regulating the operation of certain amusement machines and other
devices and games for use by the public; providing penalties for the violation there-
of; and fixing the ~ffective date of this ordinance,'; reinstating section 2 of
Ordinance No. 1481, as originally adopted, and giving reasons for the adoption of
this ordinance.

Section 1. That on August 21, 194R, the City Commission of the City of Bremer-
ton by a vote of 2 to i adopted Ordinance No. 1489, providing for an amendment to
Ordinance No. 1481, which would have the result of decreasing the revenue of the City
of Bremerton from the operation of pinball machines by approximately SS,O00.O0 per
annum.
Section 2. That the said amending Ordinance No. 1489 has not gone into effect
and will not go into effect until thirty days from and after passage and publication.
Section Z. That the original pinball Ordinance, No. 1481, was adopted as an
emergency measure to bring much needed revenue to the City of Bremerton after months
of discussion and consideration by the City Commission, and that it was at the time
of the adoption of said ordinance and should remain the purpose of the City Comm-
ission to limit the operation of said pinball machines to places which are not
frequented by minors.
Section 4. That the lowering of restrictions as provided for in the said
amending Ordinance No. 1489, will provide an ~nducement to install pinball machines
in places more apt to be frequented by minors and will therefore increase the problem
qf police control and ultimately prove harmful to the community.
Section 5. That Ordinance No. 1489, entitled as fully set forth in the title
to this ordinance, be and the said Ordinance No. 1489, is hereby repealed in toto,
and Ordinance No. 1481, entitled as set forth in the quoted portion of the t~tle to
this ordinance, is hereby reinstated in full force and effect exactly as originally
passed by the City Commission.
Section 8. That said Ordinance No. 1489 is not and has never become effective,
and that this ordinance shall be deemed a reconsideration of said ordinance and the
said ordinance No. 1489 shall never be put into force or effect.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Nayor,
and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 9th day of
September, 1942.
