AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement
District No. 221, created and established by Ordinance No. 1447, providing for the
imorovement of PITT AVENUE from East Eleventh Street to East Thirteenth Street;
also Harkins Street from Winfield Avenue to Pitt Avenue, in accordancewith the maps,
plans and specifications, as in said ordinance provided; providing for the levy-
ing and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels and lots of
land between the termini and %%d thin the boundaries of the said. improvement district;
providing for the collection thereof; creating and establishing a special fund
therefor, and fixing the date for aJ~e issuance of bonds in pasunent thereof.
THE CITY C0~'?/IISSION OF THE CIT~.:f OF BRENIERTON ORDAINS AS FOLLOWS:
Sect~.on 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No.. 221,
providing for the improvement of Pitt Avenue from East Eleventh Street to East
Thirteenth Street; also Harkins Street from Winfield Avenue to Pitt Avenue, by
clearing, grubbing, grading, graveling and oiling, and the construction of concrete
sidewalks, end all other work neces.sary to make said improvement a complete job,
all in accordance with the plans a~'..~ speclfic~',tions on file in the office of the
City Clerk, and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1447, be and the' same
is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in
said assessment roll, is specially benefited by said improvement, and that there be
and hereby is assessed against such oarcel and lot of land and part thereof, and
other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll,
including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts
in said roll set against each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, and other
property between the termini of said improvement abutting ~pon, adjacent or pro-
ximate to said street, and such amounts so assessed are hereby declared to be a
first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the
same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this saiU improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known and called, "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. ~21." Bonds shall b~ issued in serial numbers from One to
both ~ncluslve, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the uncollected~
portion of said special assessment due or owing in said district o~ the date here-
inafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of One Hundred (il~100.O0-) Dollars
each, except the first whichshall be for such fractional part of One H~dred
Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from said "Local
Improvement Fund, District No. 221."
Section 4. Tha6 the 21st day of September 194~, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in fu. ll. force and effect thirty days from
and after its passage an~ publication as. provided by law.
PASSED" by the City Commission of the ~ity of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor,
and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 29th day
of July, 1942.
