AN ORDINANCE providing for the employment of additional employees in the
supply division of the water department, making certain transfers in the 1945
budget of the supply division of the water department, and declaring an emergen¢
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the Superintendent of the water department and the General
Foreman of the supply division, are hereby authorized to employ, beginning as
January l, 1945, additional employees of the supply division of the water
department, as follows:
Four pump operators at $190.00 per month
One Utilttyman at $200.00 per month
Two patrolmen at $180. to $180. per month,
Section 2. That it will not be necessary to employ seven guards provided
for in the 1945 budget for the supply division of the water department, for
which $14,280.OO has been provided in the 1945 bidget, and that the appropriati¢
in said budget for general maintenance men can be reduced to the extent of
$1560.00 without impairing the efficiency of the water department.
Section 3. That the City Treasurer and City Clerk are hereby directed to
make the following transfers on the 1945 City Budget:
Transfer from appropriation for seven guards at 75~ per
hour, maintenance and operation, supply division, water
department $14,280.00
Transfer from general maintenance men, supply division,
water department, salaries and wages, 1~560.00.
Total to be transferred .............. $15,840.00
transferring said sum of $15,840.00 to supply division, water department, main-
tenance and operation for payment of salaries and wages of the additional emplo~
referred to in paragraph i hereof.
Section 4. An emergency exists which affects the public peace, health and
safety of the City of Bremerton, and this ordinance shall take effect immediatel
on passage and publication.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor,
and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, this 27th day
of December, 1944.
