AN ORDINANCE providing for the apprehension and detention of persons suspec
of prostitution, providing for the quarantine of certain persons and providing
penalties.

Section 2. All Police officers of~ty of Bremerton desi~ated as depu
health offic2rs shall have the authority to q~tine for a period of 24 hours
any persons ~iolating Sections i of this Ordin~ce~viding that such quaran-
tine shall be subject to review by the City Health Offi~who shall if he shal
determine that it shall be necessary for preservation of the~lic health, wel-
fare and safety, continue any such quarantine for a period of 72~s. ~ring
the period of ~y such quarantine as provided for herein, any person
quarantined shall submit ~o ~ ex~ination to determine whether or not suers
has any venereal disease.
Section 5. ~ emergency exists affecting the peace, heal~h, safety ~d wel
fare of the citizens of ~he City of Bremerton, ~d this ordinance sh~l become
effective i~ediately upon passage ~d publication.
PASSED by ~he City Co~cil of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor
and attested by the City Clerk in aubhentication thereof, on this 50th day of
August, 19~4.
