AN ORDINANCE correcting certain typographical errors and errors of des-
cription in Ordinance No. 1544, which Ordinance changed the map of Bremerton,
Washington.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. £hat the United States of America, acting through the Federal
Public Housing Authority, and its duly authorized agent, the Housing Authority
of the City of Bremerton, has undertaken certain war housing projects in and
near the ~ity of Bremerton, popularly known as Qualheim Hill, Sheridan Par~,
Anderson Cove, View Ridge, and Sinclair Park, the sites of ~ich projects are
more particularly described hereinafter, in order that dwellings may be avail-
able for p~rsons engaged in national defense and war activities in the Puget
Sound Ravy Yard.
Section 2. That the Puget Sound Wavy Yard is the main industry of the City
of Bremerton, and the making available of housing to the workers in said ~avy
Yard in this crucial period of war and national defense emergency, in the midst
of an acute housing shortage, is a municipal purpose.
Section 3. '£hat the housing Cooperation Law of the State of Washington
authorizes the City of Bremerton to change its map to include national defense
housing projects within the city limits, and it is necessary and advisable on
account of the war and national defense emergency, and for the proper and ade-
quate housing of persons engaged in war and national defense activities, that
~he sites of said housing projects be included within the City of Bremerton,
Section 4. That the map of the ~ity of Bremerton 'be, and it is hereby
changed to include the following described sites of housing projects above
referred to:
QUALHEI~ HILL SITE "A"
Beglning at the northwest corner of the intersection of Western Ave. extended
and Arsenal Way, said point being S 0o40'44'' W. 317.~0 ft. from the NE corner
of the NW¼ of the NE~ of Section 21, Twp. 24 N., h. i E., ~.~.; thence along
the Easterly margin of Arsenal ~ay (County Road N~. 32), N 40°26'20'' W, 406.28

Section 5. An emergency exists, and this ordinance is necessary for the
immediate preservation of public peace, health and safety in the ~ity of Brem-
erton, and for the purposes of national defense, and the same shall take effect
immediately after its psssage and publication.
PASSED and approved unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton
and attested by the City Clerk in authentication thereof, this 3rd day of
May, 1944.
