AN DRDINA~!CE setting up and establishing an insurance fund, directing the
transfer of monies into said insurance fund, setting up a method for purchasing
insurance for the City of Bremerton, and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE~gERTON COES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Under the budget regularly adopted for the year 1944, the follow-
in~ departments have budgeted funds available for payment of various types of
insurance premiss: ~
Water Department; Sanitation Department; Wharf
Department; Library Department; .~ecreation
Department, and Street Department.
Section 2. That for convenience in bookkeeping an~ in ordering and paying
for various types of insurance for the City of Bremerton, there is hereby estab-
lished, and the City Treasurer is hereby directed to set up ~d establish a
f~d, to be known as the "Insurance ~und", an5 the Oity Treasurer is hereOy
5irected to transfer the following s~s, regularly budgeteO for insurance pur-
poses durimg the year !94~, to the said "Insurance Fund" and to charge the s~e
against the bmSgets of the particular departm:~ncs hereinafter set forth:
Water Department $2500.00
Sanitation Department 700.00
Wharf DeMartment 600. O0
Library Department 200.00
Recreation Department 3000.00
Street Depsrtment 1500.00
To tel $8500.00
Section 3. fhat there is due an~ owing to the Oity of Dremerton, as re-
turn premiss on various fire insurance policies, the s~ of ~l103.b0, which
said s~m as coltecteS, together with ~y other return prem~s which may be
collected in the future, shall be by the ~ity Treasurer deposited in said "In-
surance Fund."
Section 4. The Purchasing Agent, with the advice of the Insurance ~9oard,
and in pursuance to the instructions of the City Council, shall be responsible
for purchasing insurance to cover all the insurance needs of the City of
gremerton, and the premiss for sll insurance policies purchased bY and for the
benefit of the Uity of Bremerton shall be paid from siad insurance f~d, after
the filing and a~proval of sworn vouchers, by warrants drawn and sigmed by the
City Clerk an0 co~tersignee by the .~,ayor.
Section b. That an emergency exists affecting the public peace, health
and ssfety of t~e inhabitants of the City of Bremerton, andes ordinance shall
take effect i~ediately following passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the ~ity 0ouncit of the bity of Bremerton, signed
by the l~ayor, and a~tasted by the City Clerk in authentication of such passerine
this 12 dr.y of April, 1944.
