AN ORDINANCE appropriating the sum of $180.00 for the salary of Circula-
tion Librarian for the month of December, 1945, for the Bremerton City Library,
and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE}~RTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That an emergency exists which could not have been fore-
seen ~t the time of ao.opting the budget for the year 194b, in that Lucille
Bresman, formerly ,~mployed by the Bremerton Public Library, has been honor-
ably discharged from the Women's Army Corps and has returned to the City of
Bremerton, requesting that she be restored to employment in the Bremerton
Public Library; that at the time the 1945 Budget was adopted, it could not
reasonably have been foreseen that said Lucille Bresnan was going to return
to her employment during the year 1940 and. the City Council could not reason-
ably h~ve appropriated funds sufficient to cove~, such employment.
Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of ~180.00 for
the salary of Circulation Librarian for the Bremerton Public Library for the
month of Decem.ber, or so much theresf as shall '0e required, and the City
Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to execute emergency warrants, not
exceeding said sum, in payment of expenses occasioned by the said emergency.
Section Z. That the City Clerk ~s hereby instructed and directed to
publish a copy of this ordinance in the sfflcial city newspaper immediately
following the approval of this ordinance on first reading.
Section ~. If approved on first reading, this ordinance shall be read
for final passage at the meeting of the City Council one week after the ~ate
of its first re~ing.
Section 5. That an emergency exists which affects the public peace,
health and safety of the City of Bremerton, and this ordinance shall take
effect immediately on passage and publication.
APPROVED unanimously by the C~ty Council of the City of Bremerton on
first reading, this 5th day of December, 194~.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton, signed
by the ~ayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such pass-
age, this 12th day of December, 194~.
