AN ORDINANCE declaring an emergency to exist on account of the necessity
of completing the fire alarm systems, for the Sheridan Park and Westpark Fire
Stations, appropriating fund~ to.meet such emergency, and declaring an emergency.
THE CIT~ OF BR~gERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That a public emergency exists in the City of Bremerton, affect-
ing the public peace, health and safety, in that the fire alarm systems for the
two new fire stations at Sheridan Park ~nd ~Jestpark have not been completed and
it is absolutely essent~_al for the protection of the p~bllc that this work b~
done at a cost of approximately ~.$1~°,000.00, in order to protect lives and prop-
erty in the City of Bremerton in the event of fire.
Section 2. ~at the fund~ for comple~ion of the ~aid fi~e alarm system
have been grated by ~nd are available from the United Dta~es of Am~rlc~ in
said s~ of $12,000.00, granted ~der Project Wash. No. AS-287-CN, but that the
said emergency could not have been foreseen at the time of making the 19~
Budget and that there is no budgetary appropriation in said Budget fo~ the
expenditure of said Federal funds.
Sec~ion ~. ~at the s~ of $12,000.00 is hereby appropriated and the
City Clerk is hereby authorized to execute emergency watt, ts not exceeding the
said s~ in payment of expenses occasioned by such emergency; that the said
emergency warrants shall be retired Dy using funds now available by Federal
grant in Project Wash. No. ~-~87~; that sn emergency budget is hereby estab-
lished for the expenditure of said funds as follows:

Section 4. That the Ci~y Clerk is hereby ~structed and directed to.pub-
lish a copy of this ordinance in the official city hewspaper i~ediately follow-
lng the approval of this ordinance on first re~c~ing.
Section 5. If approved on first reading, this ordin~ce shall be read for
final passage at the meeting oF the City Council one week after the da~e of its
first reading.
Section 6. That au emergency exists which affects public peace, health
and safety of the City of Bremerton, ~d this ordinance shall take effect
i~ediately following passage and publication.

PASSED unanimously by the Cit2 Council of the City of Bremerton, signed by
