AN ORDINANCE, providing for the licensing and regulating the operation
of certain .amusement machines and other devices and ~games for use by the public,
and amending Ordinance 1461; providing penalties for violation thereof; and
fixing the effective date of this ordinance.
THE CYTY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON ORD~ff NS AS FOLLOW~, to-wit:
Section 1. That Section A of Ordinance 1461 passed and approved by the
City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor on the 8th day
of April, 1942, entitled as "An Ordinance for Licensing and Regulating the
Operation o Certain Amusement Machines and Other Devices and Games for use by
the Public; providing penalties for the violation thereof; and fixing the
effective date of this Ordinance" be and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows ~
"Section A. OPERATOR'S LICENSE. It shall be unlawful for any
person to become an operator of amusement devices, as herein
defined, without having a valid and subsisting license, to be
known as 'Operator's of Amusement Device and License.' An
Operator's license shall be granted only to a person who is a
citizen of the United States, of good moral character and

e-adh operator shall be issued an Operator s License by the City
Clerk upon the payment of an Operator's License fee of One
Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) payable yearly in
advance to the City Treasurer. Such Operator's License shall

permit the licensee thereof to lease, rent, or place
with others not exceeding thirty-five (35) amusement
devices and each such amusement device operated there-
under shall be allotted a consecutive number ~eginning
with Number 1."
Section 2. That Section 5 of Ordinance 1461 passed and approved by the
City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the Mayor on the 8th day of
April, 194~ entitled as "An Ordinance for Licensing .and Regulating the
Operation of Certain Amusement Machines and Other Devices and Games for use by
the Public; providing penalties for the violation thereof; fixin~ the effective
date of this Ordinance," be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
Section 5. APPLICATION AND GRANTING OF LICENSE. No
license herein provided, shall be granted by the City
Clerk without the approval of. the City Commission.
Every Person applying for an Operator's License
described herein shall make written application to the
City Commission and shall deposit with the City
Treasurer the license fee required by the City Clerk;
such application may be approved or denied by the City
Commission in accordance with the rules, regulations,
qualifications, set forth in this Ordinance. If such
application is approved, the approval shall be noted
on said application and shall be the authority for
the City Clerk to issue the license applied for. If
the application should be rejected, notice of such
rejection shall be mailed by the City Clerk to the
applicant at the address noted in said application and
the applicant shall be entitled to a refund of the
license fee deposited with the City Treasurer at the
time of making said application."
Section 5. That an emergency exlsts in the Ci'ty of Bremerton affecting
the public peace, health, and safety, and that this Ordinance becomes effective
immediately following passage and publication.
PASSED by the City Commission of the City of Bremerton, signed by the
Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage, on
this 7th day of March, 1945.
