THE CITY OF~IERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The i~easing use of public streets, sidewalks, doorways
end areaways immediately ~tting thereon for the business .of solicitation of
subscriptions to magazines %r. periodicals for future delivopy, constitute an
~'annoyance to and interferes w~-~h lawful users of such places, including members
of the armed Y'orces, frequently"'r~esults in fradulent ~ractices, is generally
detrimental to the public welfare"~d has therefore become a public nuisance,
and that such usa of the public plac~, hereinbefore set forth is hepeby defined
as ?s te~ing."
~ection 2. It is hereby Oeclare~ to~unlawfol to engage in the business
of soliciting or to take subscoiptions for any~asazines or periodicals for
future delivery in or on any puOlic street, or ~ewalk, or in any area or door-
way or entrance-way immediately abutting thereon.
Section 3. Violation of the provisions of thts~inance shall be punish-
able by a fine or not more than Three Hundre5 (G300.O0)~llars or by Imprison-
ment in the city jail for not moge than ninety ~90) da~ o~y both such fine
and impriso~ent.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in forc~hirty (30)
APPROV~D o~} first reading this 7th day of ~,ebruary, 1945, b7 the C~
0ore, oil of the City of Bremerton.
PASSED on final reading by the City~ Oouncil of the City~ of Brem~n, sig~
by the aayor, and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage,
this 14th day of February, 1945.
