repairs to the equipment of the street departm:ant of the City of bremerton,
appropriating funds to meet such emergency.
THE CITY OF 8R~fERTON DOES ORDAIi'[:
Section I. That adequate a!~d suffic[e~t funds were ~ot included in the Offi-
cial City Budget for the year 194~ for reDairs to the oqufpment of the street de-
partment~ that much of the eq~sipment of the street department has been in service
throughout the war and that the City Council coul~ not have ~ ~
~o_eseen at the time
of making the B,ad~et for the year 1946 t~e facts constituting the emergency; that
an emergency exists in view of the fact that it is absolutely essential that the
said street department equiRment be repaired in order to furnish necessary and
essential services to the C~ty of ~7~r~merton, in orOer to protect the public
health and safety.
Section 2. That there is hereby appropriated the s~ of ~5200.00 for equip-
ment repairs ~der the general heading %?aintenance and operation" in the street
department, a~d the ['~[ayor and C]~ty Clerk are hereby authorized and a~irected to exe-
cute an emergency warrant or warrsnts not exceeding said st~ in payment o[~ the
penses occasioned by said e~uergency.
Section 3. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to publish
a copy of this ordinance In the official city newspaper i~nediately following the
approval of this ordinance on first reading.
Section 4. After approval o~ f~rst reading this ordinance shall be read for
final passage at the meeting of the City ~o~cil one week after the Uate of said
first reading.
Section 5. That sn emergency exiwts affecting the public peace, health and
safety, and this ordinance shall take effect i~mediately following final passage
and publication.
