AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improve-
ment D~strict No. 227, providing for the improvement of Rainier Avenue between
Thirteenth Street and Fifteenth Street as in said ordinance described; providing
for the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels
and lots of land between the termini and within the boundaries of said improvement
district, providing for the collection thereof; creating and establishing a special
fund therefor and fixing the date for the issuance of 0onds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BREMERTON AS FOLLOWS:
Section l: That the assessment roll for Loc~ll Improvement District No. 227,
providing for the improvement of Rainier Avenue between Thirteenth Street and Fif-
teenth Street by clearing, grubbing, grading for, and construction of 5 ft. concrete
sidewalks, concrete curbs and gutters, together with the doing of any and all other
work in connection therewith as may be necessary to make such improvement a comp-
lete job, all in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the office
of the City Clerk and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1688, be and
the same is her§by approved and confirmed.
Section 2: That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in
said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvements, and that there be
and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land and part thereof and
other property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll, includ-
ing the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts in said
roll set against each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, and other property be-
tween the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said
street, and such amount so assewsed are hereby declared to be first lien against
each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the same is assessed in
said roll.
Sect,.on 35 That for the purpose of this said improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. 227". Bonds, bearing Interest at 4%, shall be issued in serial
numbers from one to 38, both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide
for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing for the uncol-
lected portion in said district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in
denominations oI' One Hundred Dollars each, except the first which shall be for such
fractional part o£ One Hundred Dollars as may be remaining ~ue and unpaid on said
date, payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 22V".
Section 4: That the 16th day of January, 1947, be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
Section 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days
from and after its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and attested by the C~ty
Clerk in authentication of such passage this 27th day of November,
