A}if ORDI,UANCE relating to rates for the collection of garbage in the
City of Bremerton, amending Section 6 of Ordinance No. 885, dated A~ril 8,
1'918, as amended, fixing the effective date of t?~is ordinance, aha declar-
ing an emergency.

Sec. !. That Section 6 of Ordinance No. 888, City of Bremerton, as
amended be and the same is hereby a~nended to read as follows:
"Sec. 6. Garbage shall be collected in residential districts not
less than once each week and ~a,.ily in the co~nercial or b~siness districts
of the City of Bremerton. The monthly rate for weekly collection service
shall be as follows:
One can per week iil. O0
Two cans per week ....................... 1.80
Three cans per week ~.60
Four cans per week
Five cans per week 4.~0
There shall be a charge for ~laily service where the total number of cans
collected is not less than twenty-five (88) cans per month an¢l not in
excess of thirty (SO) cans per month, of ~[~8.80 per month. In determining
the type of service to be rendered, the average ntumber of cans per week
shall constitute the basis for s~ch determination.. Any additional service
over and above the servff_ae requested by the subscriber up to and. inc!~::ding
a total collection of t?lirty ($0) cans per month shall be at the rate of
twenty (~0~) cents per can for each such additional can. Any service over
and above the collection of t½irty ($~) cans per month shall 'be at the
rate of ten (!07) cents for each such a{~ditiona! can. Persons subscrib-
ing for daily service who require tile collection of less than twenty-five
(S$) cans in any month shall be charged accor~ing to 'the applicable lesser
rate set forth above. '~ere it is permissible under the terms of this
ordinance to keep rubbish and containers in other than cans, the charge
for collecting such rubbish shall generally equal the charge for collect-
ing garbage in cans provided herein, which charge shall be computed by
the superintendent of the Garbage Detsartment. The foregoing rates shall

first regu!ax billing date following .September SO,

.,~health, safety and welfare of the city of Bremerton, and shall be effective
