ALT ORDINANCE adopting and conf~rming the assessment roll for Local Improve-
merit District No. 231, providing for tl-~e improveme?~t of Hayward Avenue between

~n said ordinance desc~ibed; providing for the levying ~d assessing of the
costs and expenses thereof a~ainst the parcels and lots of !and betwea~ the
termini an~ within the boundaries of said improvement ~istr~ct, ~oroviding for
the collection tl~ereof; creatin~] a~d estabtishi~g a special fund therefor ~d
fi:~inS the date for the issuance of ~nds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY C0~NCIL 0~ (~HE C!2Y (YF B~E.;!ERT0t~ AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That the assessment ~mll for Local improvement District
231, providing for the improvement of Hayward Avenue between East Thi~.teenth
Street and a point 313.5 ft. North of East Sixteenth Street by clearing, d?ub-
bing, grading for, ~d construction of 5 ft. concrete si~:~ewa!ks, concrete curbs
~d gutters, together with the doing of any anm all other work in con~ection
therewith as may be necessary to ma~e such improvement a complete job, all
accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the o~'fice of tl~e City
Clerk and as provided by and descrioed in Ordinance i~o. !7~, be and t~e same is
herebf approved and comfirmed.
Section 2: That each ~arcel and lot of land or part t[~ereof, as s[~own
said assessment roll is specially 0chef ired by said improvements, and tl'iat t~ere
be and hereby is assessed against each parcel anal lot of land and part thereof
and other property contai~ed in said improvement district as s[~own in said roll,
including t~ze property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective
in said roll set a[jainst each parcel or lot of and/or part thereof, aha other
property between the termini of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or prox-
imate to said street, and suci~ amount so assessed are hereby declared to be first
lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof, against which the same
is assessed in said roll.
Section 3; That for the purpose of this saic~ improvement there is hereby
created and established a specia~ func~ to be kno~ and called "Local Improvement
F~d, ~)istrict ~1~o. 231". Bonds, bearing Interest at 4~6, shall be issued in serial
n~bers from one to 77, bot~z inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to pro-
vide for the uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owi~g for the
~collected portion in said district on the date hereinafter fixed, tl~e sm~e to
be in denominations of One [[und~ed ~llars each, except the first which shall be
for such fractional part of One ~lundred ~llars as may be remaining due and
paid on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement Fund, District No.
Section 4: That the 30th day of July, 1947, be anm the s~e is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account
of said improvement.
Section 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thlrty days
from and afte~-' its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the ~..[ayor and attested by the City
Clerk in authentication of such passage this llth day of J~me, 1947.
