AN 0RDINA_~TCE providing for the revocation of taxicab drivers' licenses and
amend g 0rdina~ e No. 14V4, entitled, "An Ordinance providing for the licensing of
taxicab in the City of Bremerton and establishing procedure for the revoca-
tion or s pension of such license."
THE ~Y 0F BRE~4ERTON ~ES ORDAIN:
Sec . That Section 5 of the ordinance be and the s~e is hereby amended
to read as loll ~s:
"Section 5. the chief of police finds that any person licensed here~der
has been convicted a criminal violation of federal or state law, or any ordinance
of the City of Breme ~n or has forfeited bail after posting thereof after arrest
for a criminal viola of such law or ordinance and that such conviction or bail
forfeiture establishes t such licensee is no longer of good moral character and
reputation, or is not a ful and experienced driver, or if the chief of police
for any other reason believe, that such person is not competent to operate a taxi-
cab within the City of Bremert, then the chief of police shall make a written re-
port of the circ~stances such matter to the City Co~ission of the
City of Bremerton an~ shall make r. s~mnendations to the Cit~ Co~ission regarding
the suspension or revocation of the cense of such person. After considering the
said report and before revoking or sus' ading any such license, the City Commission
shall order a hearing, ~d in such case .all notify the licensee of the date of
said hearing and of the contents of the re rt of the chief of police, which said
hearing shall be held on a day certain, but all be not less than ten (10) days
from ~d after the mailing of notice of such h .ring to such licensee, anm which said

may, in his discretion, suspend any such license a period not to exceed fifteen
(15) days d~'ing investioation of such circt~stances If, upon hearing befo:,e the
City Conmission., a majority of the City Co~ission sba find that the license of the
said licensee shq[{ld be suspend~ or revoked, it shall h so ordered. An appeal ~'rom
such order, suspension or revocation, may be made to the ,erior Court for Kitsap
Cowry, in the manner provided for ~der the general laws ~be State of ?~ash~ngton
In case of the revocation of license, the same shall be taicen by the chief of
police and cancelled by the City Clerk, and in case of the suspe ~ion of a license the
s~e shall be surrendered to the City Clerk and shall be returned the licensee at
the termination of the period of suspension."
