THE CITY OF BREI,!ERTON i-L~ES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That Section ~ of Ordinance No. 1461, dated April 8, 194~ and
titled, "A~ Ordinance for Licensing and Regulating the Operation of Certain ~use-
ment Machines and other Devices ~d G~es for use by the Public, providing penalties
for the violation thereof and fixing the effective dat~ of this ordinance", be and
t~e s~ne is hereby ~ended to read as follows:
"Sec. 9 AMUSEI..iEI~!T DEV]-CE LICE!.~SE. It shall be ~lawful for any person to
display, e~ibit, or expose, or pe~it to be used, played or operated, or displayed,
e~ibff, ted~ or exposed for px.~pose of use, play or operation, by the general public,
or for profit, any ~musement d~vice without having a valid and subsisting license
to be aesignated as "~nusement Device License" and on which all license fees due
have been paid, which license shall specifically describe the particular device
license~ and shall be attached to ~d conspicuously displayed on the ~usement
device for which it is issued, which license shall also contain the n~ne of the
"Operator" responsible for such ~usement device, his address and the n~nber allotted
to said device ~der said operator's license, as referred to in Section ~ of this
ordinance. ~o "ihnusement ~evice License" shall be issued unless an "0perator~s
License" as hereinafter defined shall have previously been issued to the person
who will be responsible for such machine as the operator thereof. The City Clerk
shall prescribe the form of license and each emusement device shall be licensed
at the yearly rate of ~90.00 per mevice, which license shall expire on the 30th
day of June ..of each year, together wit~ a further st~ equal to the gross operating
income, as defined herein, multiplied by the rate of ten (lO,J) per cent, which s~
shall be paid to the City 'i'reasurer within ten (10) days from and after the e~d
of the particular month for which the said amo~t becomes due."
Section Z. This ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public
health, welfare and safety of the City of Bremerton and shall take effect i~edi-
aBely upon passage_~d publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and attested by
the clerk in authentication of such passage this llth day of J~e, 1947~
