AN ORDINANCE appropriating funds for street lighting, power and mainten-
ance, and for commercial billing expense, and I~or 1949 garbage revenue bond
redemption not provided f'or in the budget for the calendar year, and d eclarin~
an emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON ~ES ORDAIN:
S~ction 1. That subsequent to the amop~ion of a budget for the c~,n-
dar year 1~, additional lights for street lighting were installem making
it n~c~ssary to exp~nd more money for street iigh~ing, power and mainten~c~
than was budgeted therefor anm by r~ason o~~ the increased exp~nditur~ th~
f~ds for such purposes have be~n exhaust~ and in order t o s eoure street
lighting in the City of Bremerton for the balance of the calendar year it
will be necessary to expenm approximately ~,000.00; that a public emergency
exists by r~ason ot~ the lack of f~ms which could not reasonably ~ve b~n
fors~en at the tim~ ot~ making the budget; that the s~ of ~,000.00 is h~re-
by appropriated for pa~ent ~or street lighting, power and maintenance, G~n-
~ral F~d, ~iscellaneous 8G for the balanc~ of the calsndar year.
Section ~. That the appropriation for commercial billing expense dur-
ing ~he cal~nmar y~ar has b~n ~xhaust~d anm that a public emergency exists
which coulm not reasonably have b~n foreseen at ~he time of making th~ bud-
get by reason oi' th~ lac~ oi~ f~ds for this purpose; t]~at it is ~stimated
than an expenmiture of ~i,8~0.00 for co~erciai billing e~pens~ will b~ re-
sired for pa~nt of that expense ~uring the calendar year ~d the s~a of
~$1,~00.00 is hereby appropriatem for co~erciai billing expense from Sec-
tion I~C oi~ the Sanitation Fund.
S~ction ~. That 15~$ garbag~ revenue ~nds w~re issuem in February,
1~, and no provision for payment of garbag~ r~venue ~nm r~mption was
mam~ in th~ budget i~or th~ calendar year I'or monthly accrual of r~emption
and interest an~ fun~s for this purpose could no~ hav~ ~e~n reasonably i~or~-
seen at the time o~' making the bumg~t; ~hat an ~m~rgency ~xists by r~ason
of the lack oI' f~ms; that it is n~cessary ~at th~ s~ of ~1,~8~.81 b~
appropriat~c for accrual oI' redemption and in~erest; that the s~m~ of ~1,~8~.
~1 is h~reby appropriated for 1~ garbag~ rev~au~ bond r~d~mption from the
Sanitation F~d.
Section ~. An em~rgsncy ~xists which affects th~ public p~ace, health
anm safety of the City of Bremerton ~ this oroinance shall b~come effect-
iv~ i~snemiately upon passag~ an~ publication.
