AN ORDINANCE providing for the expenditure of funds for payment of salari~
wages, maintenance and operation and capital outlay for the sewage disposal sy',
rem of the City of Bremerton, and meclaring an emergency.
TNE CITY OF BRE~qERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The City of Bremerton has recently completed the first unit
a sewage disposal plant which is now ready to be placed in operation. At the
time o~' preparation and adoption of the budget I'or the calendar year, it was
possible to determine whether such plant woulm be in operation, and if so, how
much money woul~ be required for its operation and payment of salaries and wag~
for the balance oi' the year. It has been determined that the sewage disposal
system should be consolidated with the City Water Department and operated as
part oI' that ~epartment, and th~ following expenditures are authorized to be m~
by and in behalf o~~ that department of the City.
Section ~. An emergency is according~declared to exist, and it is estimal
that the following expenditures will be required during the balance oI' the cur-
rent year in order to relieve such emergency.

Section 3. This ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the publi~
health and shall take effect immediately upon final passage anm publication.
APPROVED unanimously on first reading this 5th day of October, 1~49.
PASSED unanimously on second reading by the City Council oi' the City of
Bremerton, signed by Ohe ~'[ayor and attested by Uhe Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 17th day of October, 1949.
