Section 1. The sale and distribution of gasoline anm o~!-l~p infla'~m~able
liquids by means of self service statio~ls is oa;]~jerous an(~ ~onstitutes an
ui~necessary fire hazard. The only safe metho~i for sellil~g ano -ispensii~g
gasoli~e ~'ld infl~'m~able liquids is Vo make ~liver7 by the ow~er, operator
or regularly aut}~orized employee o~;' such garage or servioe station
than .to permit individuals who raay include ~li~ors, intoxicated per~soi'ls a~d
persolls not cognizant oz' the potential daltger inherent in the delivery of
ini'!~nmable liquids to serve themselves.
Section ~. It shall be ~!awfu! for the o?;~ner or operator of any gar-
age or service station to permit i~he delivery or ~ispensil~g of suoh gasoline
or other %ql'ta~'~ab!e liq1~id into the fuel tank of a motor vehicle or in~o
any.s, ti~._.~o~tai.l~er ex'~%p.g ~y the owner, operator or regularly a-ughorized em-
ployee of such garage or s ez~'v'ice stations.
Section 3. Ini'l~mia'ble li~tuids for the purpose oZ' 'this or.uin~ce shall
include all liquims with a flash point below SSOFahrenheit (closed cup test-
er) anm shall include all gasoline used for the propuisioll of motor vehicles.
Section 4. Any person violating any provision of this ordinance shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor an~ upoi~ conviction 'ghereof, shall be
ished by a fi~e of not more than ~300.00 or by imprisomnent for not
than 90 days in the city jail or by both such fine and impriso~ent.
