AN ORDINANCE adopting and confirmling the assessment roll I'or Local Improve
ment District No. 237, providing for the Improvement of Unit l!-Pensylvania
Avenue between Eleventh Street and Thirteenth Street; Unit ill-Chester Avenue
between Thirteenth Street and Fifteenth Street, West sime only, as in said 0rd-
inance described; providing for the levying and assessing o£' the costs and ex-
penses thereoK against ube parcels ann lots of land between the te~.~ini and
within the boundaries of said improvement district, providing lbr the collect-
ion thereof; creating and establishing a special fund therefor and fixing the
date for the issuance o~' bonds in payment thereof.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PHE CITY OF BRE~.iERTON as I'ollows:
Section 1. That the assessment roll Lot Local Improvement llistrict No.
237, providing for the improvement of Unit 11 - Pennsylvania Avenue between
Eleventh Street an~ Thirteenth Street; Unit 111 - Chester Avenue between Thir-
teenth Street and Fifteenth Street, (West sloe only) by clearing, grubbing,
grading Kor and construction of 5' concrete sidewalks, concrete curbs and gut-
ters and providing for drainage, together with the doing of any and all other
work in connection therewith as may be necessary to maXe such improvement a
complete job, all in accordm~ce with the plans and speciKications on z'ile in th.
office oL 'the City Clerk and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1796
be and 'the sa~r~e is hek~eby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in
said assessment roll is specially benefited by said improvements, ana~ that
there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel anm lot of land and part
thereof and other property contained in said improvement ~istrict as shown in
said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the res-
pective amounts in said roll set against each parcel or lot oL and/or part ther~
of, and other property between the termini o~' sai~ improvement abutting upon,
adjacent or proximate to said street, an~ such amount so' assessed are hereby
~ec±ared to ~be first lien against each parcel or lot of land or part thereof,
against which the same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That Lot the purpose dE this said improvement there is here-
by afeared and established a special I'und to ~e known and called "Local Im-
provement Fired, District No. 237". Bonds, bearing Interest at 4~, shall be
issueO in serial ntunbers from one to 42, both inclusive, or so many as may be
necessary to provide for 'the uncollected portion of saim special assessment due
or owing z~or the uncollected portion in said district on the date hereinaI'ter
fixed, the same to be in denominations of Two Hundred Dollars each, except the
first which shall 0e for such'I'ractiona~ part oi' Two Hundred Dollars as may be
remaining due and ~mpaim on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement
Fund, District No. 237."
Section 4. That the llth ~ay of April, 1~49 be an~ the same is hereby
fixed for th~:s date of the issuance and sale oI' the bonds to be issued on ac-
count oz' saim improvement.
Section 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect ~hirty days
from anm aZ'ter its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Cotu~cil, signed by the Acting Mayor and attested by
the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 16th day of February, 1949
