Section 1. Ordinance No. 1459 entitled, t~An oz-.dinance relating to
the regula~tion of traffic on the public streets of the City of Sterner-
ton; providing for th~: purchase, instal!ation, reg~lation and control
of parking meters, an~ establishing and defining parking meter zones,
authorizing the methoa oz~ payment for parkin~ meters aha the installation
thereof exclusively from the receipts o'btained from their operation, re-
quiring deposit of coins in parking meters for the parking of cars ad-
jacent thereto in parking meter zoz:es; providing penalties for violation
of the provisions thereof; creating a 'Parking I'¥~eter F~d', and declaring
an emergency," be and the same is hereby mnended by adding thereto Sec-
tion 16(a) as follows:
Section 16(a)~ REGISTEHED 0W~:~ER RESI~0NSIBLE FOR ILLEGAL PARKING
A~D VIOLATIONS 0T!~R THAN ~/[0VING. Every person i~ whose name a vet~icle
is registered (licensed) shall be responsible for any parking or angle
parking o~' said vehicle and for all offenses other than moving violations
in violation o~' this code. It shall be no defense ~0 such charge tiuat
said vehicle was ~l!ega!ly parked or angle parked or used by anoti~er, un-
less it be shown that at such time saim vehicle was being ~sed without the
consent of the registered (licensed) owner thereof.
