AN ~RDINANCE adopting and confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement
District No. 241, providing for the improvement of Summit Avenue from Firsb Street to
a point 208 feet south of the centerline of Coontz Street; the Alley in Block 4,
Charleston Navy View Addition, from Coontz Street south 154 feet and west 150 feet
to Hartford Avenue; the Alley in Block 2, Charleston Navy View Addition, from First
Street to Coontz Street; Coontz Street from Hartford Avenue to Lafayette Avenue;
Hartford Avenue from CoCntz Street to a point 340 feet north of the centerline of
Coontz Street; Yantic Avenue from Rodgers Street to a point 290 feet north of the
centerline of Rodgers Street; Rodgers Street from Yantic Avenue to Hartford Avenue
east; and the Alley in Block 8~ Charleston Navy View Addition from the centerline
of Rodgers Street north 290 feet as in said ordinance described; providing for
the levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels
and lots of land between the term~hni and within the boundaries of said
improvement district providing for the collection thereof; creating and establishing
a special fund therefor, and fixing the date for the issuance of bonds in payment thereof.
THE CITY OF Bt~N~RTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No. 241, providing
for the improvement of Summit Avenue from First Street to a point 208 feet south of the
centerline of Coontz Street; the Alley in Block 4, Charleston Navy View Addition~
from Coontz Street south 154 feet and west 150 feet to Hartford Avenue; the Alley
in Block 2, Charleston Navy View Addition~ fr(~ First Street to Coontz Street;
Coontz Street from Hartford Avenue to Lafayette Avenue; Hartford Avenue from Coontz
Street to a point 3~O feet north of the centerline of Coontz Street; Yantic Avenue
from Rodgers Street to a point 290 feet north of the centerline of Rodgers Street;
Rodgers Street from Yantic Avenue to Hartford Avenue east; and the alley in Block 8~
Charleston Navy View Additio~ from the centerline of Rodgers north 290 feet by the
construction of a sanitary sewer~ together with the doing of any and all other
work in connection therewith as may be ~cessary to make such improvements a
complete job, al~ in accordance with the plans and specifications on file in the
office of the City Clerk and as provided by and described in Ordinance No. 1911,
be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each psrcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown in said
assessment roll, is specially benefited by said improvements, and that there ~e and
hereby is assessed against each pm' cel and lot of land and part thereof and other
property contained in said improvement district as shown in said roll, including the
property belonging to the City of Bremerton, the respective amounts in said roll set
against each p~ cel.or lot ar~/or part thereof, aud other property between the termini
of said improvement abutting upon, adjacent or proximate tosaid street, and such
amounts so assessed are?hereby declared to be first lien against each p~rcel or lot
of land or part thereof ~gainst which the same is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this improvement there is hereby created
and established a special fund to be known and called ,'Local Improvement Fund, District
No. 241". Bonds, Dearing interest at 4% shall be issued in serial numbers from ~ne
to seventy-ei~t, both inclusive, or so many as may be necessary to provide for the
uncollected portion of said special assessment due or owing for the uncollected
portion in said district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in de~ominati~s
of Two Hundred Dollsrs each, except the first which shall be for such fracti~al part
of Two Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid on said date, payable from
said "Local Improvement Fund, District No. 241".
Section 4. That the 22nd day of October, 1951, be and the same is hereby fixed for
the date of the issuance and sale of the bonds to be issued on account of s~d improvement.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect thL~ty days from
its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the M~yor and attested by the City Clerk in
authentication of such passage this 29th day of August 1951.
