THE CITer OF BREIv~E~TON ~ES ORDAIN:
Section 1. ~hat Ordinance 1871 is .aersby ~ended ~y adding sections

Section 1~ a. Wherever there exists in any Federal Housing ~roject,
within ~he corporate limits oI' ~hs City oI' Brsmerton~ Washington~ a wa~er
distriDution system which has ~srstoIors been ouilt at ~h~'~ expense ~f ~he
Federal Govsr~ent, or its agencies, and suOssqusn~ly has been deeded or
leased to the City o2 Brem~rton, and in which i'~ is impossible to shut off
wa~sr service ~o individual dwsiling ~its due to the i~act ~hat multiple
dwelling ~i~s ars served by single service connections, a~d where it is
no~ practical to ins'tail master ms,ers ~o serve the i~abitants o~' such
housing project, as provided by Ordinance No~ 1871~ ~he City ox' Br~merton
may require the oLficials oL such project to collect the monthly charges
for water and sewage disposai ssrvi ~ at Flat Ra~es from its tenants and
remit suc~ collections monthly to the city on the filth day oi' the month
following such collections. The rate for such water and sewage ~isposal
service shall be si~ and two-thirds cents (6.67~) per day per occupied
unit, computed on the basis oL a thirty-day month, r~gardlsss oL the actual
n~ber of days in any such month.
Section 1~ b. From and after the effective date of this ordinance~
each and every new dwelling unit erected on a housing project shall be
served through an independent service connection which shall bs controlled
by a shut-off valve at the s~rest line. Closing this valve shall not affect
the service to any other dwsi!ing unit.
Section 2. Due to the difficulty in collecting accounts and loss of
revenue due to the i~ability to collect in certain Federal Housing Projects
an emergency exists in the City of Bremerton an¢i ~his ordinance is necess-
ary for nhe immediate preservation oI~ the public peace, heal-~ and saLety
of' ~he citizens o~' the City of Bremerton, Washington, and this ordinance
shall be in full Lorce and effect upon i~s passage and puOlication.
PASSED unanimously by ~he City Council, signed by the ~ayor and at-
tested by the City Clerk in authentication oL such passage this llth day
of April~ 1~81o
