AN OHDINANCE providing Ib r the appropriation of funds for which
no appropriation or insuz'ficient appropriation was made in the 1962
Budget, and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF B~[.:~,'IERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That subsequent to the adoption of a 0udget for the
year 1952 by the City of Bremerton t[-~ere has oeen an increase in registration
for elections requiring additional services in the Clerk's Office and
using supplies and records in excoss of normal use thereoi~ and in addition
there has been a special election z'or the annexation of terriOory known
as Navy Yard City which increased registration, use of supplies and special
annexation election could not have been reasonabl~ foreseen at the time
of ~ne adoption of s aid 0udget and taat due to exora work in ~he Ivy
Green Cemetery it has oeen necessary to employ additional help in excess
of that which could have been reasonabl~ foreseen or anticipated and which
has depleted the appropriation therei'or in the 19~2 budget.
Section 2. That by r~ason of the increased ~ork in registration,
the use of supplies and special annexation election and the additional work
in Ivy Green Cemetery, there exists and is hereby declared ~o exist, an
emergency requiring the following appropriation i~rom the general funds
and there is hereOy appropriated from z'unds not otherwise appropriated
the following:
General Fund:
Registration and Election:
Clerk hire $6c0.00
Records and supplies ~00.00
Navy Yard City annexation election 221.67
and appropriated from the general fund to the
Cemetery i~und, extra help, wages l~00.00
Section ~. That by reason oi'the emergency created, this ordinance
is necessary for the present preservation of the public peace, health,
safety and welfare oI' the citizens oZ' ~he City of Bremerton, and is
require~ for carrying on oz' the necessary work under ~he law for the
departments herein descri0ed and this ordinance shall ta~e effect
immediately following passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council o~~ the City of Bremerton,
signed 0y the ~ayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication o~
such passage t~is l~h day of August, 195~.
