AN ORDINANCE providing I'or the expenditure of I'unds for Civil
Defense for which no provision was made in the 1952 budget and de-
claring an emergency.

Section 1. ~tha~ subsequent to she adoption of a budget z'or the
~~~ year 1952 by the City of Bremer~on, the
Civil Defense Program in KiOsap County, Washington, became organized
to an extent that it has Oecome nec.ssary to purchase three air r~id
warning sirens for use in the City of Bremerton and in connection with
the Civil Defense Progr~ and I~or which purchase no provision or appro-
priation was made in the 190~ budget and the purchase thereoz~ will cost
approximately $~000.00.
Section ~. That by reason of ~he completion of the Civil DeZ'ense
organization after the adoption oi' the 19~ ~udget, there exists and is
hereby declared to exist an emergency requiring the appropriation from
the General Fund of the sum of ~2000.00 to be used in connection with
the purchase of ~hree air raid warning sirens, and there is hereby ap-
propriated said sum.
Section Z. ~hat ~y reason o~' said emergency this ordinance is
necessary for ~he preservation of the public health, safety and wel-
fare of the citizens of the Oity of Bremerton an~ shall taEe efi~ect
immediately following passage and puolication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the ~ayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication of
such passage this llth ~ay oi' June, 19~.
