AN ORDINANCE appropriating i'unds for the taxing oi~ a special
census not provided for in the budget for the calendar year 1952
and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE~¥1ERTON DOES 0L~DAIN:
Section 1. That subsequent to the adoption o~' the budget
for the calendar year 1952, it has oecome necessary i'or the City
of Bremerton to take a special census for the purpose of enumer-
ation o~' the population within the City Limits of Bremerton, and
which could not have been reasonably f~seen at the time o~' the
preparation and adoption oi' the budget for the year 1952o That
the estimated cost oz' taking such census will be the sum of
~4,000.00 and there ara no z'unds to pay the said cost o~~ taking
such census~ and there is hereby appropriated the s~n of ~4,000.00
I'or payment oI' the cost ol~ taking such special census.
Section 2. ~'hat by reason of the necessity I'or the taking
o~' a special census which could not have ~een reasonably forseen
at the time of the adoption of the budget, there exists and is
hereby declared to exist an emergency which affects the public
peace, health and saI'ety of the citizens o~' the City of Bremerton
and this ordinance shall be effective immediately upon passage
and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council oI' the City oI' Brem-
erton, signed by the '"ayor and attested ~y the City Clerk in
authentication oi' such passage this 15th day of ~pril, 1952o
