HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960 ORDINANCE NO. 1960 AN ORDINANCE accepting a conveyance of the water system of the Marine ~ive Water District, providing for the maintenance, repair and improvement o£ said system and authorizing a contract for the supply- ing and furnishing oI' water and maintaining and repairing said system and declaring an emergency. THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN: Section 1. ~e Commissioners of Dlaring Drive Water District having .been authorized by a special election to convey the mains and laterals comprising the water system of said district and having tendered a con- veyance thereoZ' to the City oI' Bremerton, Section 2. ~e City of Bremerton being willing to accept the mains and laterals comprising the ~arine Drive Water District water' distribu- tion system, does hereby accept said conveyance oi' said water system. Section 3. 'Re Mayor and the City Clerk oI' the City of Bremerton are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with the ~om- missioners cz' Marine Drive Water District providing for the serving of customers within said district and for the maintenance, repair, exten- sion and betterment cz' said system, which contract has been previously presented to and approved by the City COuncil of the City of Bremerton ~d the Commissioners of Marine Drive Water District. Section 4. An emergency exists affecting the public peace, safety and health and the weli'are of the citizens of the City of Bremerton ~'or the reason that upon the acceptance oI' the conveyance of said water sys- tem the s~e shall be come the property of the City and its responsib- ility and this ordinance shall tame effect immediately I'ollowing pass- age and publication. PASSED unanimously by the City Council, signed by the ~ayor ~d attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 19th day of March, 1952.
