AN ORDINANCE declaring the need for the condemnation oZ' certain
real property in Kitsap County, State of Washington, for street purpeses
and for the laying o~' water mains, directing condemnation of said pro-
perty and payment of just compensation therefor and declaring an emer-
gency.
THE CITY OF BREM~TON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of
the City of Bremerton that, in order to extend Eleventh Street in the
said City and to provide a place for the loaation of necessary water mains
in connection with the Municipal Water Department, certain property here-
inafter described be acquired I'or said purposes, and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk and Purchasing Agent and the City Attorney
of the City have been authorized and directed to purchase said real pro-
perty upon negotiation with the owners thereof but that negotiations
have Failed and the owners are unwilling to convey to the City of Brem-
erton at a price established by appraisal thereof, and it is essential
that the City of Bremerton obtain title to said property' without delay,
and that it is necessary that the same be acquired by condemnation for
the purpose oI' securing title to said property and determining the just
compensation to be paid the owners thereof;
Section ~. That said property is legally known and described as
Lots ~ and ~, Block C, Oyster Bay Addition to Port Orchard Navy Yard,
according to Plat thereof recorded in Volume ~ of Plats, page 8Z, rec-
ords of Kitsap County, Washington;
Section ~. The City Attorney oi~ the City of Bremerton is hereby
authorized and directed to proceed immediately with the condemnation of
said real property in the Superior Court of the State of ~ashington for
Kitsap County.
Section ~. An emergency exists affecting the public peace, safety
and health of the citizens and their welfare and this ordinance shall take
effect immediately following passage and pu01ication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in authentication
