AN ORDINANCE confirming the assessment roll for Local Improvement Dis-
trict No. 288, providing for the improvement of Veldee Avenue from 24th
Street to 28th Street as in said ordinance described; providing for the
levying and assessing of the costs and expenses thereof against the parcels
and lots of land 0etween the termini and within the boundaries of said im-
provement district, providing for the collection thereof; creating and es-
tablishing a special fund therefor, and fixing the date for the issuance of
bonds in payment thereof.
THE CITY OF BRENERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the assessment roll for Local Improvement District No,
258 providing for the improvement of Veldee Avenue from24th Street to 28th
Street by the construction of concrete curbs and gutters and ornamental
street lighting, together with the doing of any and all other work in con-
~ection therewith as may be necessary to make such improve,ents a complete
job, all in accordance with the plans an8 specifications on file in the
office of the City Clerk and as provided by and described in Ordinance No.
2028 be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each parcel and lot of land or part thereof, as shown
in said assessment roll, is specially benefited by said improvements, and
that there be and hereby is assessed against each parcel and lot of land
and part thereof and other property contained in said improvement district
as shown in said roll, including the property belonging to the City of Brem-
erton and the respective amounts in said roll set against each parcel or lot
and or part t~ereof, and other property ~tween the termini of said improve-
ment abutting upon, adjacent or proximate to said street and smch amounts
ao assessed are hereby declared to be fiz. st lien against each parcel or lot
of land or part thereof against which the s~ne is assessed in said roll.
Section 3. That for the purpose of this improvement there is hereby
created and established a special fund to be known and called "Local Im-
provement Fund District No. 256". Bonds,bearing interest at 4% shall be
issued in serial numbers from one (1) to twenty-three (23), both inclusive,
or so many as may be necessamy to provide for the uncollected portion of
said special assessment due or owing for the uncollected portion of said
district on the date hereinafter fixed, the same to be in denominations of
Five Hundred Dollar ~onds each, except the first which shall be for such
fractional part of Five Hundred Dollars as may be remaining due and unpaid
on said date, payable from said "Local Improvement Fund District No. 256".
Section 4. That the 5th day of March, 1954 be and the same is hereby
fixed for the date of the issuance end sale of the bonds to be issued on
account of said improvement.
Section 5. '~hat this OrdKnance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days from its passage and publication as provided by law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor an~ attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 30th day of December,
1953.
