AN ORDINANCE providing for the appropriation of funds for which no
appropriation was made and/or insufficient appropriation was made in the
1953 budget, and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. ~'hat by reason of a Fire Department investigation and
hearing and requirement of repairs to the City Hall and the necessity of
providing funds to match employees, contributions to the retirement sys-
tem, and by reason of making an insufficient appropriation for operation
of the Water Department, it is necessary that the folowing appropriations
be made:
Civil Service:
Maintenance & Operation - Miscellaneous $ 80.00
Treasurer:
Capital Outlay - Furniture & E~uipment 125.00
City Hall:
Maintenance & Operation-Repairs & Mtce 500.00
Water-General:
Maintenance & Operation-Retirement Liability 3,000.00
Water-Commercial:
Maintenance & Operation-Telephone, Radio, ~ost-
age, etc 1,600.00
Auto Supplies and Expense 400.00
Water-Distribution:
Maintenance & Operation-Maintenance of Mains 1,O00.O0
Maintenance of Automotive Equipment ?,000.00
Section 2. ~hat at the time of the adoption of the budget for 1953
it xould not have been reasonably foreseen that the additional appropria-
tions would be necessary or that appropriations would be necessary for
certain of the above, and it is necessary that the above appropriations
be made from funds not otherwise appropriated and the respective suns
are hereby appropriated to the funds hereinabove set out. That by rea-
son of the fact that no appropriation was made and insufficient appropria-
tion has been made, an emergency exists and this ordinance is necessary
for the present preservation of the public peace, health, safety and wel-
fare of the citizens of Bremerton and is required for the carrying on of
the necessary work under the law for the departments herein described and
this ordinance shall take effect immediately following passage and pub-
lication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the ~ayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such
passage this 2Zrd day of Decem~r, 1953.
