AN ORDINANCE accepting a~ conveyance of the Water system of the
Phinney Bay Water District, providing for the maintenance, repair and
improvement of said system and authorizing a contract for the supply-
ing and furnishing of water and maintaining and repairing said system
and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON 'DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. The Commissioners of Phinney Bay Water District hav-
ing been authorized by a special election to convey the mains and lat-
erals comprising the water system?of said district and having tendered
a conveyance thereof to the City of Bremerton and the City of Bremer-
ton being willing to accept a conveyance of the mains and laterals
comprising the Phinney Bay Water District water distribution system,
does hereby accept the conveyance of the water system by the Commis-
sioners of the Phinney Bay Water District.
Section 2. The Mayor and the City Clerk of the City of Brem~rton
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with the Com-
missioners of the Phinney Bay Water District providing for the serving
of customers within said district and for the maintenance, repair, ex-
tension and betterment of said system, which contract has been previous-
ly presented to and approved by the Commissioners of the Phinney Bay
Water District and by the City Council of the City of Bremerton.
Section 3. Zhat by reason of the conveyance of said water system
and the necessity for the immediate execution of a contract providing
for service to the customers of the Phinney Bay Water District, there
exists and is hereby declared to exist an emergency and this ordinance
shall take effect immediately following passage and publication.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Council, sigaed by the mayor and
attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 12th
day of November, 1953.
