AN ORDINANCE providing flor the appropriation of funds for which
no appropriation was made in the 1953 budget and declaring an emer-
gency.
THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. £hat by reason of a gift to the City of Bremerton by
the Bremerton Lions Club of a swimming pool which is presently under
construction at Evergreen Park in said City, and the necessity for
providing funds for the maintenance and operation o~ said pool by the
City of Bremerton for the summer season commencing in August, 1953,
for which no appropriation was made in the 1953 budget, there is here-
by appropriated the sum of $5,398.V0 from funds not otherwise appro-
priated, for the purpose of maintaining and operating the Nemorial
Swishing Pool for the summer season of 1953.
Section 2. That at the time of the adoption of the budget by the
City of Bremerton for the year 1953, it could not have been reasonably
forseen that such additional appropriation would be necessary, and
there exists and is hereby declared to exist an emergency requiring
this appropriation and this ordinance is necessary for the present
preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare of the
citizens of Bremerton and is required for the maintenance and opera-
tion of the swimming pool by the City of Bremerton, and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect upon passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the City Council of the City of Bremerton,
signed by the Mayor and attestea by the Clerk in authentication of
such passage this 29th day of July, 1953.
