AN ORD]'NANCE providing for the appropriation of funds for which an
insufficient appropriation was made in the 1953 budget, and declaring an
emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That by reason of illness of the assistant sexton o~ Ivy
Green Cemetery and the necessity of increased work in the cemetery, the
appro~:~riation in the 1953 budget for extra help has beenr educed to the sum
of ~i~Zf~.O0, waich sum is imsufficiemt to pay for extra labor and help for the
balance of the year and that it is necessary that an appropr[.ation of ~500o00
be ma~'~e from funds mot otherwise appropriated and to be used for the purpose
of payment of extra Iabor and help in Ivy Green Cemetery, and the said sum is
hereby appropriated for said purpose.
Section 2o That at the time of the adoption of the budget for the year
1903 it could not have been reasonable foreseen that s~ch additional
appropriation w~uld be necessary and there exists and is hereby declared to
exist an emergency requiring this appropriation' and this ordinance is necessary
for the present preservation cF the public peace, health, safety and welfare of
the citizens of Bremerton and is required for the carrying on of the necessary
wori~ of Ivy Green Cemetery and this ordinance shall take' effect immediately
following passage and publication.
PASSED unanimously by the C.~ty Council of the City of Bremertcn, signed
by the ~[ayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of .such passage this
20th day of i~Iay, 1953.
