AN ORDINANCE accepting and incorporating into the corporate
limits of the City of Bremerton certain land lying outside the
limits of the City of Bremerton and Oeing contiguous to the City
of Bremerton and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Whereas, a petition signed by qualified voters,
reslden..s of the hereinafter described area, equal in number to
20% of the votes cast at the last general election, for the an-
nexation of said property to the City of Bremerton, was filed with
the City Council and was approved by resolution of the City Coun-
cil of the City of Bremerton and an election was held upon the
petition for annexation on the 2nd day of November, 1954, at which
a majority of the votes cast favored annexation of said. area, and
a certified copy of the finding thereof by the Board of County Com-
missioners of Kitsap County, and a certified abstract of the vote,
has been transmitted to and filed with the Clerk of the City of
Bremerton.
Section 2. That the following described tract of land is by
this ordinance adopted and incorporated within the city limits of
the City of Bremerton and becomes a part of the City of Bremerton,
to-wit:
The Northe~t quarter of the ~,lo~theast quarter of Sec-
tion 11, Township 24, North Range i E.W.M., Kitsap County,
Washington, lying South of the areas annexed to the City of
Bremerton on May 20, 1953, and August 6, 1953.
Section 3. That by reason of the election and the approval
of the annexation of said described property and ohe need for fur-
nishing of immediate police and fire protection to the residents of
said area, an emergency exists and is hereby declared to exist and
this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, property, health and safety of the citizens of the
City of Bremerton and shall be in full force and effect following
passage and publication.
PASSED mnanimously by the City Council of the City of Brem-
erton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in auth-
entication of such passage this 8th day of December, 1954.
