AN ORDINANCE establishing a Bur, au of Fire Prevention, providing
regulation for fire prevention and protection in connection with hazardous
materials and processes, providing officers therefor and. defining their
powers and duties; providing penalties for the violation thereof and
repealing Ordinance No. 1975.
..... THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That a certain document, three copies of which are on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Bremerton, marked and
designated as a FIRE PREVENTION Code, Edition of 1956 of the National Board
of Fire Underwriters, be, and the same hereby is, adopted as a Fire Preventi
Ordinance of the City of Bremerton, and providing for the establishment of
a Bureau of Fire Prevention, providing regulations for fire prevention and
protection in connection with hazardous materials and processes; providing
officers there~$'r and defining their powe~0s and duties, and providing
penalties for violation thereof and each and all of the regulations,
provisions, conditions, terms and penalties contained therein are hereby
referred to and by reference adopter and made a part hereof as though fully
set out in this ordinance.
Section 2. That Ordinance No. 1973 hereby is repealed.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Bremerton shall keep on
file in his office at least three copies of such Fire Prevention Code,
Edition of 1956, for the use of the public and at reference, and shall
provide for such additional copies for sale or distribution to such persons
interested as shall be determined by the City Council.
Section 4. Any person, firm, or corporation, violating any of
the provisions of this ordinance, and upon conviction thereof, shall be fine
in the sum of not to exceed $300 or by imprionment in the City Jail for a
period not to exceed 90 days or by both, such fine and imprisonment.
APPROVED on first reading this 13th day of November, 1957.
PASSED on second reading, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 20th day of November, 1957
