AN ORDINANCE approving and confirming the assessments and assessment
roll of Sidewalk Construction Fund, District No. 2, for the construction,
reconstruction and repair of sidewalks, ~utters, curbs, along and driveways
across sidewalks, in the City of Bremerton, u~der Resolution No. 939, and
levying and assessing the amounts thereof, according to benefits, against
the several lots, tracts and parcels of land and other property as shown
on said roll; providing for the collection of said assessments and author-
izing the issuance of sidewalk construction fund warrants to pay the cost
and expense of said improvements.
THE CITY OF BREMERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That the assessments and assessment roll of Sidewalk
Construction Fund, District No. 2, for the construction, reconstruction
and repair of certain sidewalks, gutters, curbs along and driveways across
sidewalks, in the City of Bremerton, under Resolution No. 939, as the same
now stands, be, and the same hereby are, in all t~ings approved and confirmed.
Section 2. That each of the lots, tracts and parcels of land and other
property shown upon said roll is hereby declared to be specially benefited
by said improvement in at least the amount charged against the same, and that
the assessment appearing against each lot, tract or parcel of land and other
property is in proportion to the cost that each separate improvement bears
to the respective abutting property. ~l~nere is hereby levied and assessed
against each such lot, tract and parcel of land and other property described
in said roll, the amount finally charged against the same thereon.
Section 3. SAid assessments may be paid on or before the 2§th day
November, 1957, without interest, but thereafter all deferred payments
shall bear interest at the rate of 8 per cent per annum up to and including
the due date of the last i~stallment, t~ereafter any unpaid balance shall
draw interest at the rate of 12 per cent per annum. Any portion af any
assessment not paid within the time aforesaid may be paid to the ~City
Treasurer in three installments, the first of which shall be due, payable
and delinquent on the 28th day of November, 1957, the second installment
six (8) months from the date of the confirmation of the assessment roll,
and the third installment twelve (12) months after the date of the confir~na-
tion of the assessment roll, together with interest thereon.
Section A. The City Treasurer is hereby authorized to issue sidewalk
construction warrants, as provided in Ordinance No. l~0?, in an amount not
to exceed the cost and expense of the improvements referred to insaid
ordinance.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify and transmit
said assessment roll for the collection of the assessments fixed and set
forth therein to the City Treasurer for collection, pursuant to law.
PASSED by the City Council, signed by the Mayor and attested by the
City Clerk in authentication of such passage this 2~rd day of October, 1957.
