ORDINANCE NO. 2243
AN ORDINANCE relating to the retirement and pension system
for the City employees, fixing rates of contribution thereto and
providing for the adjustment thereof, amending paragraph c, Sec-
tion ? of Ordinance No. 15V2 and declaring an emergency.
THE CITY OF BRE~ERTON DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. That paragraph c of Section V of Ordinance No.
1572 is hereby amended to read as follows:
"At the end of each payroll period, the board shall
determine the aggregate amount of the normal con-
tributions for such period, and shall certify such
aggregate to the City Clerk and the City Council
and the Clerk shall thereupon transfer to the re-
tirement fund hereinafter provided for, from the
money appropriated for that purpose in the budget
for the fiscal year, an amount equal to the aggre-
gate normal contributions for the period received
from members except when the Board recon~nends in
writing prior to the adoption of the budget for any
ensuing year or at the time any certificate is pre-
pare~l and delivered as provided herein for a dif-
ferent contribution by the City and said recommend-
ation is approved and adopted, by resolution of the
City Council.
Section 2. That an emergency exists affecting the public
peace, health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of
Breme ton and this ordinance shall take effect immediately fol-
lowing passage and publication.
PASSED UNANIMOUSLY by the City Council of the City of Bremer-
ton, signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk in auth-
entication of such passage this 18th day of September, 195V.
